- Design a series of Q&A to help the participant discover which type of person or which category he/she falls under.
- The answers to each quiz question are associated with the quiz result via a correlation scoring system.
- Embed your brand visuals or product recommendation in each Q&A or quiz result to pique the participant’s interest in your brand or products.
Step 1: Define the different quiz results
The quiz results describe each possible type of person or category that the quiz taker may turn out to be. Think about the different types of audience that your business want to attract– what are their preferences and temperaments? What are their talents or skill levels? What are their problems or dreams? Try to map each result to a different group of customers that you are trying to target.
Tip: The result text and visual should be designed in a way that makes people want to share their result! The key is to stay positive.
Step 2: Design the quiz questions and answers
Each question you pose should not have direct relationship with the quiz results, i.e. don’t ask the quiz taker to choose which result he/she is! Each answer should be designed to help reveal the quiz taker’s “hidden” trait, which is associated with one of the results.
Tip: If your quiz has 4 results, each of your question should have at least 4 answers
Step 3: Assign a correlation level to each answers
After you have written the answers to each question, associate the correlation level of each answer to each quiz result. The three correlation levels are strong (2 pts), medium (1 pt), and weak (0 pt). As the quiz taker chooses his/her answer to each question, points are tallied up under each result, and the result that receives the most points is the result that will be shown to the user at the end of the quiz.
Tip: To ensure a more reliable quiz result, it’s recommended that you have at least one more question than the number of quiz results to break any tied scores (e.g. if you have 4 results, then design at least 5 questions with 4 answers each)
